The 5-day journey from Fes to Marrakech via the Merzouga Desert offers a unique opportunity to explore various landscapes, including the Sahara Desert, Atlas Mountains, valleys, and kasbahs. The itinerary includes camel trekking and overnight camping in the Sahara Desert, with two nights spent in Merzouga Desert, one night in Ouarzazate, and one night in Marrakech.
Day 1: Exploring Middle Atlas Mountains and Erfoud - Discovering Ifrane, Cedar Forests, and Palm Groves
On Day 1 of the trip, You will be picked up from your accommodation in Fes and travel through the Middle Atlas Mountains. Along the way, you will make stops at Ifrane - also known as the Switzerland of Morocco - and witness great cedar forests where monkeys reside. Continuing southwards through Midelt and Errachidia, you'll encounter beautiful palm groves before reaching Erfoud for dinner and an overnight stay at a hotel.
Day 2: Immersive Sahara Experience - Nomadic Encounters, Rissani Market, Camel Trekking, and Desert Camping
Day 2 is dedicated to exploring the desert area. You will visit Khamlia village to learn about Gnawa Music and their culture. The voyage continues towards nomad families living in Berber tents where you can enjoy tea with them. Afterward, you'll head to Rissani - once an ancient capital city - where you can take a short walk through its vibrant market before returning to your hotel. From there, camels await for a ride across the dunes leading to your overnight campsite under starlit skies.
Day 3: Sunrise in the Desert to Ouarzazate - Todra Gorge, Kasbahs, and Crossing the High Atlas Mountains
On Day 3 after witnessing a mesmerizing sunrise over the desert landscape early in the morning, you'll ride back on camels to return to your Hotel before departing for Ouarzazate. En route, the trip passes through Todra Gorge of Tinghir with stunning gorges that reach heights over 200m.Then continuing along "the path of a thousand Kasbahs" ,you arrive at Ouarzazate,a famous city known for its film industry.Having dinner & staying overnight at a hotel here.
Day 4: Ait Ben Haddou & Tizi N'Tichka Pass - UNESCO Heritage Site Visit en route to Vibrant Marrakech
Day 4 starts with a visit to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Ben Haddou, an ancient kasbah. Then you'll proceed towards the kasbah of Telouet before crossing the High Atlas Mountains through Tizi N'Tichka pass - the highest road in Morocco at 2,260m. Finally, you'll reach Marrakech and spend the night at a riad.
Day 5: Discovering Magical Marrakech - Full-Day Guided Tour of Historical Sites and Souks
The last day is dedicated to exploring Marrakech. You will have a full-day guided adventure visiting attractions such as Menara, Casbah, Saadian Tombs, Bahia Palace, Koutoubia Mosque,Majorelle Gardens,and souks.The experience culminates with a visit to Jemaa El Fna square. At the end of your trip,you will be transferred to the airport for departure.
