Itinerary

From exploring the enchanting Medina of Fes to immersing yourself in Marrakech's cultural treasures, this itinerary takes you on an unforgettable adventure. Discover historical splendors in Rabat, sacred cities and Roman ruins in Meknes and Volubilis, before concluding your journey with a departure from Fes airport. Join us as we unveil the wonders of Morocco's imperial past!

Day 1: Exploring the Enchanting Medina of Fes

On Day 1 of your 6-day journey from Fes to imperial cities, you will be picked up from the airport and transferred to your accommodation in Fes. You will have some free time to explore the city, starting with a visit to the outside part of the Medina (old city). This includes attractions like the Royal Palace Gate, the Jewish Quarter (Mellah), and a ceramics Cooperative where you can see traditional Moroccan crafts. Afterwards, you will visit important sites inside the medina such as Bou Inania Medersa (an architectural masterpiece), Blue Gate, Karaouine Mosque, The Big Chouara Tanneries, and Medersa Seffarin. In the afternoon, you'll go to the tombs of Merenids for a beautiful panoramic view of the medina before returning to your hotel.

Day 2: Immersion in Marrakech's Cultural Treasures

On Day 2, after breakfast at your hotel in Fes, you will depart for Marrakech. Once there, suggested places to visit include the magnificent market and Saadian cemetery (tombs of Berber regime rulers from sixteenth and seventeenth centuries), Bahia Palace with its Andalusian decorations, Medina or Mellah Jewish quarter, and Tanners' area near Bab Debbagh door. Additionally on this day's trip is Majorelle Gardens which houses a collection of cacti along with water plants, palm trees, bamboo, and garden plants. After lunch at a local restaurant, you'll have free time to explore Jemaa el-Fna square on your own where snake charmers, magicians, narrators, and acrobats gather.Supper and lodging will be provided at your hotel.

Day 3: From Casablanca to Rabat - A Journey Through Modernity and History

After enjoying breakfast, you will embark on a journey from Marrakech to Casablanca, which is renowned as the largest port city in Morocco with a population exceeding four million. The name "Casablanca" can be traced back to Portuguese sailors who named it after a small white house located on Anfa Hill known as Casa Branca. Upon arrival in Casablanca, your itinerary includes visits to the ancient medina, United Nations Square, Hassan II Mosque, Marina Center, and Twin Center. Following your exploration of Casablanca's attractions, the voyage will proceed to Rabat where you will be accommodated at a hotel and provided with dinner.

Day 4: Unveiling Rabat's Historical Splendors

On Day 4, following breakfast, you will join a local guide to explore Rabat, which has served as the political capital of Morocco since 1912. Your visit will commence with an exploration of the impressive red-colored walls constructed by Sultan Yaqub Al-Mansur that extend over a length of 5 km. Next on the itinerary is a visit to Hassan II Tower, renowned for its distinctive reddish shape and color. After lunch, your journey continues towards Meknes - an imperial city and former capital of Morocco during the 16th-17th centuries. Divided into three main areas: the medina, Sultan Mulay Ismail's imperial villa, and Ville Nouvelle (built by French), you will embark on a walking tour starting at Bab Mansour – the most famous gate among Meknes' collection of 22 gates located within its surrounding wall spanning approximately 25 km in circumference. Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to explore Mellah – the Jewish quarter featuring synagogues and a Jewish school. The Imperial Villa showcases historical sites such as an ancient prison where slaves who contributed to constructing the wall were held captive; it also houses Moulay Ismail's mausoleum. Dinner and accommodation will be provided at your hotel.

Day 5: Sacred Cities and Roman Ruins

On Day 5, you will start your day with a delicious breakfast before embarking on a journey from Meknes through Mulay Idris. This sacred city is named after Muhammad's great-grandson, who established Morocco's first Arab dynasty in 787. Mulay Idris is characterized by clusters of white houses nestled on small mountains and features an old city with a cylindrical minaret adorned with green motifs, making it truly remarkable. After exploring Mouly Driss, your adventure continues towards Volubilis – an exceptionally well-preserved Roman colonial town located on the outskirts of the Empire. Once the ancient capital of the Roman Berber kingdom of Mauritania, Volubilis now holds UNESCO World Heritage status. Some notable highlights include the House of Orpheus, featuring a mosaic depicting nine dolphins amidst waves, as well as another mosaic that tells the story of Orpheus himself. Your excursion also includes visits to Galliano baths, the forum, Acrobat's House and the Arc de Triomphe built in 217 AD to honor Caracalla. As Rome declined in the third century, Volubilis experienced a decline too which led its inhabitants to establish Fez as their new home. In the afternoon, you will head back to Fes where you will enjoy an overnight stay at your hotel.

Day 6: Departure from Fes

On the final day of your 6-day tour from Fes to imperial cities, a pick-up will be arranged at the agreed time from your accommodation. You will then be driven to Fes airport for your departure. This marks the end of an incredible journey exploring Morocco's imperial cities.

"We had 7 days customized trip in Morocco, it was a wonderful trip. From very beginning, the owner of the company Mr Mehdi Lahrech gave us very professional suggestions and help us to design the trip, he always answered our questions very quickly ( day and evening ), and take care of all details. During the trip, he contacted us almost every day to check if everything went well. Our personal guide and driver Ayoub, is a very kind and experienced driver, he took care of all contacts with hotels we stayed. I feel this is a company can be trusted. The only advice I would like to give here, if you plan a trip to Morocco, you'd better to ask the this company to arrange everything. We made a big mistake that we booked the hotels by ourselves, then turned out that some hotels (Riads) are very bad, we misled by the rate, but the whole visit were nice, we visited all places we expected." My husband has certain disabilities and he made everything great. If you can get him-you're lucky. The places, accommodations and food were memorable."

"I organized this trip for myself and 3 girlfriends, all young at heart. We were recommended Deeply Morocco by a friend and are so very grateful, because our 17 day tour around Morocco was fantastic. We started in Rabat/Sale on to Chefchaouen, then Volubilis & Fez. From there to the desert making multiple stops along the way including seeing the Berber maqaques. We spent 2 night in the tents and could have stayed longer. Camel rides, sand dunes and very starry nights. From there to Skoura and the beautiful lodge L’Ma. The Atlas mts, Marrakesh and then Oualidia. I dealt with Mehdi, the owner, through the process and he was extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and nice. He was also very accessible to reach. We stayed in beautiful Riad’s, ate wonderful food and had superb guides. The icing on the cake of this tour was our driver/guide Achraf who was with us the whole time. He is smart, nice, great knowledge of history, extremely easy-going and entertaining. I highly recommend using Deeply morocco , and request Achraf, if you’re lucky to get him." Read moreless...

For citizens of the United States, Canada, Australia, United Kingdom, New Zealand, Japan or European Union countries planning a visit to Morocco lasting 90 days or less, no visa is required. However, it is important to ensure that your passport remains valid for at least six months beyond your planned return date. If you hold a different nationality than those mentioned above, we recommend checking with the Moroccan Embassy for specific visa requirements pertaining to your country.

Indeed, Morocco is widely regarded as a safe destination to visit. It consistently ranks among the safest countries globally and has seen significant improvements in its security measures over the years. The Moroccan government places great importance on ensuring the safety of both locals and tourists alike.
While petty crimes such as scams and pickpocketing can occur in any tourist destination, it's important to exercise general caution and be aware of your surroundings. Taking common-sense precautions like keeping an eye on your belongings, avoiding poorly lit or secluded areas at night, and being cautious with strangers will go a long way in ensuring your safety.
Moroccan people are known for their warm hospitality, making visitors feel welcome and comfortable throughout their stay. Locals are generally friendly and helpful towards tourists, contributing to a sense of security while exploring the country's vibrant culture. To further enhance safety for travellers, Morocco continues to invest in its tourism industry by implementing ongoing upgrades in security infrastructure and measures. This dedication demonstrates the commitment of the Moroccan government to maintaining a safe environment for visitors.
Overall, while it is essential to remain vigilant as you would when travelling anywhere else in the world, rest assured that Morocco offers a safe travel experience where you can enjoy its rich history, stunning landscapes, and renowned hospitality without undue concern.

Indeed, Morocco is generally safe for female visitors. However, it's essential to be mindful of cultural norms and customs during your stay. While there is no strict dress code in Morocco, it's worth noting that many women in urban areas dress similarly to Western styles, allowing you the freedom to wear what makes you feel comfortable.
Morocco is known for its tolerance and diversity, so as a visitor, you are not expected to conform or adopt Moroccan attire or behaviour. However, when visiting rural areas and villages, we recommend dressing more conservatively out of respect for local traditions and to minimize unwanted attention.
By being aware of these cultural nuances and adapting your clothing choices accordingly while exploring different regions of Morocco, you can ensure a more enjoyable and respectful experience during your visit.

While it is not mandatory, we highly recommend obtaining the appropriate travel insurance before embarking on your journey. Opting for a comprehensive travel protection program will provide you with peace of mind and coverage in case of unforeseen circumstances that may disrupt or impact your holiday.
A good travel insurance policy should include coverage for various situations such as unexpected events that might lead to trip cancellation or interruption, unforeseen delays, medical assistance while abroad, as well as protection against loss of or damage to baggage.
Having the right travel insurance ensures that you are financially protected and can receive necessary support if any unfortunate incidents occur during your time in Morocco. It is always better to be prepared and have adequate coverage so that you can fully enjoy your trip without worry.

While there are no mandatory vaccinations required for travel to Morocco, it is advisable to ensure that your routine vaccinations are up-to-date before embarking on your trip. We recommend consulting with your local health centre or a healthcare professional who can provide guidance based on your specific needs and medical history.
Although not compulsory, some vaccines may be recommended depending on various factors such as the duration of your stay, destinations within Morocco you plan to visit, and any personal health considerations. Your healthcare provider will be able to offer advice tailored specifically for travelling in Morocco.
It's also important to take general precautions during your trip by practising good hygiene, drinking safe water, and taking steps to prevent insect bites. Additionally, consider obtaining travel insurance that covers medical expenses should the need arise. By staying informed about recommended vaccinations and following appropriate preventive measures, you can help ensure a safe and healthy journey while enjoying all the wonders that Morocco has to offer.

When traveling to Morocco, it is generally safe for locals to drink tap water as they have built up immunity to the bacteria present. However, as a visitor from another country, it is advisable to opt for bottled water. This precaution is recommended because your body may not be accustomed to the specific bacteria found in the local tap water, and there is a possibility of experiencing digestive issues or other discomforts. By choosing bottled water, you can ensure that you stay hydrated without worrying about potential health risks associated with drinking tap water in an unfamiliar environment.

It is important to note that while credit cards are generally accepted at large stores, high-end establishments, hotels, and restaurants in Morocco, cash is still required for transactions in small shops and Souks (traditional markets). To ensure a smooth travel experience, it is recommended to be prepared by carrying enough cash with you during your trip. This will enable you to make purchases in places where credit card payments may not be feasible.

You are correct. The Moroccan Dirham is a closed currency, which means it is not readily available outside of Morocco. It can be difficult and expensive to find dirhams in other countries. Therefore, it is advisable to wait until you arrive in Morocco to exchange your currency.
Once in Morocco, we can assist you in finding recommended points of exchange or ATMs where you can withdraw cash. ATMs are widely available throughout the country and often offer competitive exchange rates. Despite potential fees from your own bank for international withdrawals and ATM provider charges, using an ATM may still be more cost-effective compared to exchanging money beforehand.
By utilizing local ATMs or recommended exchange services upon arrival, you can ensure that you have access to Moroccan Dirhams without paying excessive fees or dealing with unfavorable exchange rates.

Tipping in Morocco is a customary practice and is generally appreciated by service providers. Whether you are a visitor or a local, it is common to tip for good service. The amount you choose to tip is at your discretion, but the standard range is usually around 10-15% of the total bill.
In certain situations where someone guides you back to your accommodation or helps you find a restaurant, they may expect a small tip as well. A typical offering in these cases would be around 10-30 Dirhams.
Remember that tipping should always be based on the quality of service received and how satisfied you are with it. It's important to consider local customs and norms while determining the appropriate amount to tip.
