Day 1: From Fes to Merzouga - Exploring Ifrane, Ziz Valley, and Merzouga
The day begins with a convenient pickup from your hotel/riad in Fes. The first stop is the charming city of Ifrane, often referred to as "morocco Switzerland," where you can marvel at the iconic stone Lion landmark. Continuing on, you'll visit Azrou to witness Barbary apes (monkeys) and engage with local nomads living in caves, immersing yourself in their way of life and gaining insights into Moroccan Berber history. After enjoying lunch in Midelt town, the journey proceeds through Ziz Valley, offering breathtaking views of the magnificent Ziz gorges. In Erfoud, there will be an opportunity to explore a local fossil craft workshop before finally reaching Merzouga. Upon arrival in Merzouga, you'll be transferred to your hotel/riad for a comfortable overnight stay.
Day 2: Rissani Excursion and Sunset Camel Ride - Nomadic Encounters in the Sahara
Embark on an exciting excursion to Rissani, starting around 10:30 am. As you drive through mesmerizing sand dunes and landscapes, you'll have the opportunity to visit nomadic families and immerse yourself in their culture while sipping tea together. In Rissani itself, explore the enchanting kasbah and ancient palaces before indulging in a delicious dinner featuring traditional Moroccan pizza called "Madfouna." After returning to your hotel/riad for some relaxation time, prepare for an unforgettable camel ride at around 3 pm. Witness a breathtaking sunset amidst the towering sand dunes of Merzouga (Erg Chebbi). Transfer by camel to a desert camp where you'll be treated to a delightful dinner under the starry sky accompanied by captivating Berber folklore music. Spend the night in comfortable desert tents, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
Day 3: Sunrise Over Merzouga and Journey to Ouarzazate - Roses, Valleys, and Charming Riads
Start your day with a captivating camel ride back from the desert, offering you the opportunity to witness a magnificent sunrise over Merzouga. Afterward, enjoy a satisfying breakfast and refresh yourself with a shower at the hotel. Prepare for departure to Ouarzazate, taking in the picturesque sights of the Valley of Roses along the way. Make sure to capture memorable moments with scenic stops for photos. Your journey continues as you arrive in Kelaat Mgouna, renowned for its locally grown roses and rose water products. Day 4: Ait Benhaddou and High Atlas Mountains - Majestic Landscapes on the Road to Marrakech
Start your day with a delicious breakfast at your hotel before embarking on an exciting journey to Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site famous for its appearances in numerous movies. Explore the ancient fortress and immerse yourself in its rich history. Next, cross the majestic High Atlas Mountains via the scenic Tizi n'Tichka pass, reveling in breathtaking views and making stops along the way to capture memorable moments. Finally, arrive in Marrakech by 6 pm and transfer to your hotel/riad, marking the end of an incredible Fes to Marrakech desert tour filled with unforgettable experiences and stunning landscapes.
Included in this package are transportation via an air-conditioned vehicle, pick-up/drop-off service at hotels/riads, a professional driver as your taxi driver throughout the adventure. You will also experience camel trekking guided by a local camel guide. Overnight stays include accommodations in hotels/riads with breakfast provided. In addition, there will be one night spent in desert tents with both dinner and breakfast included. Entrance fees to historical sites are covered along with mineral water during bus rides.
