Day 1: Arrival in Fez - Unveiling the Rich Heritage of Morocco's Cultural Capital
Upon your arrival at Fez Airport, our driver guide will pick you up and transfer you to your hotel. You will have time to plan for the "5 days desert journey from Fes". Explore the historical monuments and Jewish quarter of Fes with our local guide. Enjoy dinner and accommodation in Fez.
Day 2: Fez to Merzouga Desert - From Atlas Mountains to Dunes, a Scenic Adventure Awaits
After breakfast, we'll depart for Merzouga. On the way, we'll pass through Berber towns like Imouzer and visit Ifrane, a summer resort town in the Atlas Mountains. We'll also explore Cedar Forest to see monkeys and continue through Ziz Valley towards Erfoud, famous for its fossils. Finally, we'll arrive in Merzouga where you can ride camels across the dunes and experience a breathtaking sunset. Spend an unforgettable night at a desert camp.
Day 3: Explore the Desert Area of Merzouga - Nomadic Encounters and Panoramic Views
Wake up early to witness the sunrise from atop the dunes before enjoying breakfast at the campsite. Then, embark on a Jeep adventure to discover more of what Merzouga desert has to offer. Visit nomadic families living under woolen tents and enjoy their music and dances. Stop at panoramic viewpoints overlooking Erg Chebbi dunes before visiting villages inhabited by dark-skinned people originally from Ghana. Have lunch with them, featuring traditional Moroccan spices. In the afternoon, return to camp either by camel or Jeep.
Day 4: Merzouga Desert to Rissani and Midelt - Discovering Souks, Mines, and Mountain Towns
Wake up early once again for a unique experience of watching sunrise from your tent in Sahara desert's high dunes before riding camels back to starting point.Then head towards Midelt passing through Rissani known for its traditional souk frequented by donkeys and goats. Continue the expedition to Midelt, the capital of apples, where you'll visit Gorges of Ahouli mines, ancient mining sites for barite, kohl, and zinc. Return to Midelt for dinner and overnight stay in a guesthouse.
Day 5: Midelt to Fez Airport - Farewell with Beautiful Landscapes as You Return Home
After breakfast, depart from Midelt towards Fez. Enjoy panoramic views of snow-capped High Atlas Mountains and beautiful landscapes along the way. Make stops for photo opportunities whenever desired. At the agreed time, transfer to Fes Airport marking the end of your 5-day desert trip from Fes. We wish you a safe journey back home with warm hugs of peace and love.
